So much for retirement!
April 13th, 2011As of last April, Leonard Nimoy was retired from acting. However, it seems a couple of projects have managed to bring him back out again. Firstly, Fringe‘s latest promo (don’t worry, it’s non-spoilery!) for this Friday’s episode teases Nimoy’s reprisal of character William Bell; he teased us on Twitter about the return back in January. Nimoy also recently recorded two sessions for this summer’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon, in which he will voice “long lost Autobot leader” Sentinel Prime. (You may recall that he voiced Galvatron in 1986′s animated Transformers: The Movie.)
Of course, Nimoy is also being rumoured to to be the voice of the dragon Smaug in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit. I, for one, would love to hear him voice Smaug and I hope something comes of this particular rumour!
